What A Difference 30 Minutes A Day Makes

I know that losing weight is on the top of almost every woman’s New Year “to-do” list. However, many of us start off the year so excited and so motivated about weight loss goals. The first week we are on it!! Going to the gym, eating right and drinking nothing but water but as months go on we tend to lose that “umpf” that we had at the beginning of the year and this years weight loss goals become next years weight loss goals.

Let me start by saying that I was always the skinny girl throughout my high school years. I would eat everything that was deemed bad for you and never gained a pound. Although I exercised like crazy, I still was not healthy. After having children I gained thighs, a bootay and a little “flubber gut” that just would not go away. I eventually started Weight Watchers and loss 15 pounds and was just a mere 8 pounds from my target weight. After Weight Watchers I got back into my comfortable cycle and wouldn’t you know I gained all the weight back plus and additional 10 pounds. I hated the way that I looked to the point where I wouldn’t leave the house much. I was so upset with myself that I allowed all the weight gain when I could’ve nipped it in the bud before it got to where I was just unhappy about myself.

Fast forward to a month ago and I was at my biggest size. I decided that I could not live like this! I loved food but I loved myself more. With a history of diabetes running in my family I decided that now was the time to get back on track before my weight got out of hand. I decided to stop eating red meats and I begin cooking for myself rather than going out to eat. I begin to take colon cleansers and extra fiber to help with my digestion in addition to eating more veggies and fruits. But the best thing that helped me was when my sister gave me her elliptical and challenged me to work out 30 minutes a day. The first week I would get on for 10 minute increments three times a day. Now I am doing 30 minutes straight and hope to make it to doing an hour a day. After 2 weeks I noticed a big difference. I felt better and I noticed a change in how my pants were fitting. Needless to say I have gotten my motivation back and I will continue to push towards my goal of a healthy and fit body!!
